Since I know I will be drawing lots of flowers
from my gardens at home when our class ends,
I wanted to take advantage of some of the neat found objects at
Above is a drawer pull.
I loved it
Jane LaFazio was able to help me 'see' it more clearly,
and she suggested the method for drawing the screw.
This is a second funky drawer pull
that Jane Powell has at Random Arts.
I'm still painting it - it needs its shadow and some darker shading.
After lunch, Jane LaFazio discussed stylizing
and we were encouraged to stylize something from our morning drawing.
I found that very challenging,
mainly due to the pieces I had chosen to draw.
You can see a couple of my ideas above the brown drawer pull
on my sketchbook page.
I refined those two sketches
and used this one:
Then we carved stamps using our stylized images.
a page covered with my stamp:
I love how it turned out!
Our downstairs neighbor at the B&B was a guitar picker.
Every morning and evening
he would sit out on his deck,
below ours,
strumming lovely little tunes.
It was a treat!
Even though the heat has been a challenge,
we have enjoyed a lovely three days of classes
and meeting new friends
in Saluda, NC.
peace
