I had been using the small, hard plastic eyeglass holder you see above
to store my sketching and watercolor 'tools',
but my Tombo pen was too long to fit.
So I decided to make a little bag for all of my tools.
I used some black cotton fabric I had discharged for the bag's outside
and a wonderful product called HeatnBond Vinyl to line the inside.
As you can see below, it is iron-on.
My friend Marga had blogged about it a while back,
so this was a good time to give it a try. Thanks for the tip Marga!
I have since found that Pellon also makes a similar product,
Vinyl Fuse
I have not tried it yet, but the directions are about the same.
My new art bag really fits the bill:
I was then on a roll, so to speak, and made a few more bags:
These are all my own hand-dyed fabrics -
a great way to use up some trial-dyed pieces.
WOW! I was really pleased to learn that I WON the blog giveaway
on Deanna's blog!
I never win anything - SERIOUSLY!
and go take a peek at what I won:
a beautiful needle-felted tag done by the very talented Deanna
and an issue of Fiber Art Now!
I'm really thrilled!!!
Thanks Deanna!!!
peace

Love those little bags, love what you're doing with ecodyeing, and congrats on winning a blog giveaway -- I never have! xo
Cute little bags! I love the fabrics you are using and the laminate makes them great for storing brushes, etc. I am in awe of the fabrics you have been dyeing. Gorgeous, textural, and imprinted with nature - it doesn't get much better than that!
You are so creative and those coasters below are just too pretty to use. Have a great day, Connie :)
You clever girl, Judy! Talk about multitalented!
