Here, There and Everywhere

Yesterday was full of adventure in the kitchen reno arena. It was an absolutely beautiful Spring morning here and when Barker and I arrived home from our golf course walk, we found our driveway full of pickup trucks and vans. The electricians were trying to install the plugs and switches into the granite (they had beige and I wanted black, so that was not a good way to begin the morning with them!), the construction crew was doing a bit of finish work and hanging the range hood, while the plumber was installing our faucets and disposals. Barker wasn't happy with the noise of the nail gun, so he and I headed out to the studio to do some much more serious work.

Here are some evening pics, after all of the crews had departed for the day. Our old kitchen was very cold and sterile, so I really welcome the warmth provided by our new hickory cabinets. Here's our new range hood:

A view of the new fridge and faucet, with Barker looking in in the background:

The "bar" area (that sounds a bit vulgar...shall I call it the refreshment area?) with the new faucet:

C has just shared this Vent with me from this morning's AJC: "Does anyone else think that headlines like 'Turkey refuses to leave Iraq' are overly disrespectful of our President?"

My favorite bumper sticker during this election year: "I refuse to vote for Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriend's wife".

That's it for today.........hope you have a great one!

I’ve something to confess!!!
I’m very envious of your new kitchen!!!
Wish I lived closer so I could see it in person.
I know that you will make many tasty dinners there in the future, both for your self, your relatives and for all your friends.

Good luck!

Thanks for the giggle! I love the bumper sticker. Your granite counter tops are gorgeous - yep, bad case of lust going on here. Have a great weekend. Cheers.

Looks stunning Judy, and the granite is nothing short of spectacular. Looks so good around the hood. You've made wonderful choices. Do you know where that granite came from?
The bumper sticker is good but the "Turkey refuses to leave Iraq" being disrespectful of your President - that's so funny, I'll have to pass that around my friends over here. Hugs XO
