City Stuff

Last night C and I were incredibly fortunate to attend Bishop Gene Robinson's lecture "Why Religion Matters in the Quest for Gay Civil Rights" at Emory University's Center for the Study of Law and Religion. Bishop Robinson's election as the Ninth Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire in June of 2003 caused (and is still causing) quite a stir as he has openly admitted that he is Gay.

I LOVE this man!!!

He is intelligent, he is eloquent, and
he is oh so sensitive to the needs of everyone!
We listened to the Bishop speak for over 90 minutes and it seemed like seconds!

God Bless You Bishop Robinson!

Here is my City ComplexiTee Cardigan:

Our friends John & Troy, have a cute little shop, Occasions, off of the Square in downtown Gainesville. They hosted an open house this evening, and so I debuted my little Complexitee Cardigan there. John and Troy display and sell the freshest of cut flowers, amazing arrangements PLUS wonderful works or art, including my silk scarves. This gathering was a 'meet the artists' affair. I really enjoyed seeing so many folks out on a coolish and drizzly evening!

PEACE!!

Stunning cardigan, Judy. I hope that as more gays and lesbians find the courage, as the Bishop has, to come out and live their lives without fear or shame, society will begin to see what wonderful people we are :-) and to celebrate the beautiful diversity of humanity.

Wish I could have been there to hear him speak. I so agree with TextileTravelers sentiment.

Your cardigan is simply stunning! Is it yours to keep or are you selling it?

Do you hear the question sometimes: "Oh, where did you buy this? It's a designer's piece, isn't it?"

Your cardigan is gorgeous. Lately I have been finding blue and brown to be a wonderful combination of colors.

The Lord Mayor of Hamburg is gay, and everybody knows. And so is the Lord Mayor of Berlin. When someone outed him, he was asked by the press whether this was true, and he said: "I am gay, and that's alright."

Lovely, lovely cardigan - you are so talented. And more power to Bishop Robinson, a brave and wonderful man. Judy, you so often reflect my feelings about so many things, and you haven't disappointed me on this issue. 00XX

Judy - I am sorry about that. I am staying with someone whose server will let me receive e-mails but not send them. All my answers are sitting in my outbox and it did not occur to me last night that I could have answered on your blog, because I can get onto the Internet (although i keep getting bumped off -- ARGH).
Like just now. Glad you found what you needed.
