Several of you emailed and asked for photos of the table runner in action, so here's one:
In retrospect, I wish it was longer, but oh well, c'est la vie! LOL I can always make another! I had measured from my other favorite one, and thought I had allowed enough for shrinkage, but life is a series of learning processes and then...................!
Here's another view showing in background the lovely wedding kimono that C brought home from Japan several years ago.
Here's a detail shot of the kimono with the storks embroidered into it.
Those storks, along with our love for birds and all of the amazing waterfowl on the lake just outside our diningroom windows continue to lead me to the bird and feather motifs.
So, I'm back in the studio and sewing room and just having a ball! If you go looking for recipes from last night's dinner party, wait a bit, as I'm going to eat dinner and then update Judy in the Kitchen. Hopefully I'll post some pics of works in progress in another day or two.
PEACE!!!

Table runner looks gorgeous and so did your entire table setting. Will be waiting to see your recipes. The kimono reminds me that somewhere I have a huge embroidered silk shawl that my grandmother bought on her way to Australia in 1931. I wonder if I can display it somewhere in my new house.
Beautiful table! The kimono is drop dead gorgeous. C has very good taste - of course, we all knew that! ;-)
The Japanese birds are wonderful. Have you seen Jude Hill's coat with cranes? It reminds me a lot of this one, just that it is blue instead of white. These birds symbolize long life.
I just love the napkins and their lovely blue color!!!!
