TaDa!!

This is the place where I'll be hanging out a good bit of the time from now on! YAYYY! My wet studio is now just about complete and I really love how it turned ou
t! The big change is the set of windows over my counterspace and the coat of lemon yellow paint on the walls. I've also cleaned out and culled a ton of stuff that I've found I no longer use in my dyeing.

Here is how the same space used to look:

The one thing I've toyed with doing but opted not to do is have the floor painted. I've learned that painting concrete floors requires etching first and then painting. With all of the heavy cabinets and paraphernalia that I have in my space, it would be a huge headache to accomplish....and also more time away from my dyeing! So maybe in my next life I'll have the floors painted in my studio! Besides, this way I won't agonize over spilt dyes!

Last night I made this yummy pizza. MMMMM! I used the Chicken, Red Grape and Pesto recipe out of the September Cooking Light, and a wonderful whole wheat pizza crust recipe from the New York Times. I'll try to get both recipes printed up on my cooking blog in the next day or two. The pizza crust is easy and can be prepared up to 3 days in advance. The recipe makes two crusts, and one can be prepared and then frozen. That's my kinda cookin' for sure!

Ruth Powers was the guest speaker at my quilt guild yesterday morning. Since I know and love

Ruthie Powers of Next Signal Designs, I thought it important that I go meet Ruth Powers, admire her works, and hear her lecture. She is a very interesting person and her designs are fabulous. I think her poppies were my favorites.

All in all, it was a great day for me........hope it was for you as well!

PEACE TO YOU

What a difference some windows and yellow paint make. You are lucky to have such a fabulous space for just wet work. That pizza looks divine. I hope you get the recipe up soon.

An interesting colour! It should be very inspiring. To me, it looks a bit like chartreuse. -- I can imagine your work going easily in this studio, lots of space. You lucky one.

Oh Man! Natural light, fresh yellow paint and a culled space, new peepers - you are working yourself out of all excuses not to create!! three cheers for you!! What a wonderful space!!!
The pizza looks divine- grapes and pesto- very interesting- I'm sure that I would love it!!! Can't wait for the recipe!!

Thanks for sharing Ruth Powers poppy- that is fantabulous!! I love the intensity of color of the poppies and the irregularity of the papery petals- very forgiving and open to so many interpretations. I love "not perfect"!!!! Another name to add to my Goggle list!!

Have a wonderfully creative day!!

Nice room, Judy! Nice pizza too. The best pizza I ever had was one I made myself also. I had a recipe I found in Woman's Day, of all places. It made 4 12" crusts, which could be frozen and used later. I made a huge veggie pizza with one, and 3 calzones with the rest. I still have memories of those calzones, filled with portobello mushrooms, mozzarella (the real stuff), roasted garlic and olive oil. I even took the time to brush an egg wash on the outer crust to give it that golden brown sheen. Mmmmmm. I want one!

Your studio looks really good with that window, and the light yellow color looks so fresh and clean.
The pizza looks very tasty (even though I wouldn’t have been eating the pizza case).

Hi that pizza looks so interesting, I must try to find the book. We have a vineyard and grapes are a must. I just found your blog and will return often as you share my interests!
