More Rusting

I must say, it's nice to be able to blog with pictures again!  Joyce was right: what's an art blog without pics?  So thankfully Blogger and I seem to have come to an agreement, and I'm trying my darnedest to edit and decrease the size of my photos before adding them.  ALSO, I'm going to try not to bore you with too many photos at one time....unless of course, there's just too much to say!

The piece of rusted canvas that I showed you yesterday was quite long.  Most of it had been rolled in rebar (as in yesterday's picture), but another portion of it was rolled in a wonderful, old rusty chain that my friend Robin had given me.  (Did I mention that he gives the most wonderful gifts???)  So, the chain piece didn't seem to fit with the rebar portion, and I simply cut it off.  I overdyed it with some blues and some, what else, rusty brown.  Sadly, it lost the rusty chain effect, but I do like the very mottled rusty browns.  I think the moral of this story is not to overdye rusty fabric in similar colors.  If anyone has experience in this area, please chime in.

So that's it for today.  I hope to be back tomorrow with another update on this piece!

PEACE

I can understand that you don't want to put too many photos on each post now, but please don't ever think you bored us with your pictures. I do like these rusty colours and the mottled look and wait to see the rebar piece. xx

I like this one. There is something very Georgia O'Keefe-ish about the colors. Have fun!
