They're back!

I think that deep down in your heart, you knew that you hadn't seen the last of my herons!  I love all birds, but herons are just about my favorite: they are so patient, so stately and yes, so very beautiful.  So today I decided to resist them....but only in the dyeing sense of the word!

This (above) is the third layer on this piece of silk, and I think this is as far as I'm going to go with it.  I'm pretty pleased with the results.

These fabrics are the ones that I showed you in my last post: Fruits. I added the resist and then another layer of dye.  Above I've used some potato dextrin on a feather stamp......just a faint murmur of a feather, eh?

I'm less keen of this one (and I really thought it would be my favorite of the two) but there is a certain learning curve here, and as I complete each piece, I know that I am learning a tremendous amount.  You can barely pick out the feathers here as well......but that was also my intent!

PEACE

I like how the light areas look like sun shining on the birds. Have a great weekend.

Your herons are beautiful as always :)

Have a nice weekend, hopefully with warm weather. We have had a sunny but cold day here today.
