Doin' the Happy Dance!

It's not often that I have good news like this to share with you, so please indulge me for just a minute!  I received notification a couple of days ago that "Tsunami" was juried into our local Quinlan Visual Arts Center's "Art of our Mothers" show, which will run from April 14th-June 4.  I don't often enter shows - the whole entry process is stressful for me, and then the rejection is always very painful, so this has come as very sweet news!

The funny thing is that I totally enjoyed creating Tsunami, with not a moment of stress: isn't that how art should be?  I did just a bit of work on it one afternoon, got up the next morning and almost totally undid what I had done the previous day, because I had such a clear idea of how I intended to finish this piece.  I mixed paints with gay abandon, slathered them on, wiped bits off, and then slathered on more.  I was lost in the process and it felt so very, very good!

OK, enough about me - how about you?  Hope you are having or will have a great day!

PEACE

Congratulations Judy!!! This is so cool. We should create for ourselves and for the enjoyment of creating. I love your description of your day making Tsunami!!! I wish all of our days were like that. Lets put our heads together and try and figure this one out!!!

Oh, and it is a tremendous plus when someone else likes us. :-) Have a great day Judy.

Whoo hoo, good for you!! Definitely worthy of being juried in- I just wish I could walk through my screen and see it in person!

Congratulations Merry Sunshine!!! I agree with Gerrie. Your work is so fabulous and needs to be seen. Are you celebrating in the studio? Being in the "flow" always feels so good when it happens. Doing the happy dance with you.

Congratulations, Judy!! I agree, we do our best when we are creating for ourselves, rather than for something external. Keep on creating!

What great news, Judy! See? It pays to enter these things once in a while. Nothing feels as good as this kind of validation. Congratulations!
