Making Matches

I've spent several days trying to match perle coton
with this piece of silk that I dyed a few months ago.
The tricky part is not only that one is silk and the other cotton,
but also that the colors that I am matching are mixtures of the two dyes,
which, as part of the process, were blended serendipitously,
rather than by plan.
I'm now satisfied with my tedious mixing
and am ready to begin embroidering on this piece.
WooHoo!!!!

I love this rust ring that I found on a cart path
at the golf course this morning.

We have house guests this week while our daughter
attends a seminar about an hour north of us.
What fun for this grandmother!

Sometimes I really wonder what he's thinking,
but when he smiles and leans in to give me a kiss,
I have no doubt in my mind -
and I love it!

peace

What a beautiful little face he has! You are so lucky to have him staying with you. My littlies are in New Zealand at the moment, going to all be dressed in white tomorrow for their aunt's garden wedding. I have my fingers crossed for a fine day for them. Very strange not to have them constantly at my side. xxoo

As Carol said, Charlie is adorable. The expressions he has must keep you wondering all day long. Have fun stitching and playing!

I am trying to catch up on blogs. I am using flip book on the iPad. It is great, but leaving comments is a bit problematic. Thanks for the Charlie fix. I saw jean in Houston. She said you left TX and went babysitting!

I'm real interested in how you go about adding the hand stitch element to your beautiful work -- it will be fabulous, I'm sure. And the rocker. . . what a lucky one you are!!
