Designing a Design

I know basically what I want, but I'm playing around with a few ideas.

Do you ever wake up at 4:00 AM and have crazy design ideas
running through your head?
It happens to me all of the time!
ARRRRGH!
I thought that the insomnia would end
when I completed the Art Cloth Mastery Program
with Jane Dunnewold....
not so!
It seems to have grown worse!

That said, I think that part of the cause of the insomnia is that I am so busy during the day, that 4:00 AM is the only time
the left side of my brain can get a word in edgewise!
Is that possible?
I'd love to hear your take on this!

So, in an attempt to distill my design
(and get some much-needed sleep!)
I am working through some exercises in
I love this book.
Jane Dunnewold introduced it to our class in an assignment
prior to our first session.
I had heard of it before, but didn't own it and hadn't read it.
It was required reading, thank heavens!

This is another of the NOTAN designs I made last night.
It was inspired by our trip to
the Atlanta Botanical Gardens last Saturday.

I will be doing more designs this afternoon.
They are addictive, and
if they will help me get some rest
that is also a good thing!

As some of you know, we are having the exterior of our house painted.
I adore the two guys who are doing the job.
They have worked for us in the past and are very reliable,
polite, persnickety and timely.
In order to help them do the best job possible,
I am pruning all of the shrubbery away from the house.
It needed doing anyway, and our weather is perfect right now
for gardening.
One would think that the excess of physical labor would make me sleep!
SHEESH!!!

I was pruning our Hellebores and trying desperately
to keep out of the way!
But you can see the new paint to the right
and where they haven't painted to the left.
Amazing what a coat of paint can do to a house!

In my spare time, I'm uploading more
photos and poetry to our
My goal is to add a new poem each day.
If you have a chance, it would be great for you to take a peek.
I know you'll enjoy it.

Have a note book close to your bed and write down all of your ideas when you wake up in the middle of the night.
Perhaps that will get you some peace to know that your ideas not will be forgotten in the morning.

The house-painting looks nice. There's really a difference between white and white. LOL

I like both these designs though they are so different. I like the starkness of the geometric, but then if I was doing it I'd probably be aiming for the more organic flowery one. I just think you're very clever. The new paint looks great. Popping over to 12 Voices now. xxoo
