My Texas Star was Shining

Temptation won out,
and I opened my first Texas Star bundle last evening -
just four days shy of three weeks.
These photos were taken before the silk had been pressed
so it's a bit crinkly - more texture.
I love how clearly the star is shining in the right hand segment above.

Here are some detail shots:

I had wrapped my bundle in perle coton,
which is quite evident in the image above.

The leaves are a bit evident in this photo -
in the lower left especially.

Another good shot of a leaf,
right smack dab in the middle.

This is the blossom that remained on the pipe
after my silk was removed.

I think Monet would have like these!

peace

Hi Judy, Your fabric turned out so pretty. I would never have the patience to wait for it to cure and do it's thing. I have trouble waiting for paint to dry, LOL.
It's funny but sadly true.
As always I am in awe of your creativity.
Have a great day, Connie :)

Gorgeous, Judy! I still want the plant in my garden, just for its beautiful flowers. I thought of you on my walk. The squirrels were gathering black walnuts. ;) Have you thought of making a thermofax screen from the flower skeleton? Hint, hint. Have a colorfilled weekend.

I am sure Monet would have been fascinated, as I am :). These textures and shadings are just glorious. It must be a wonderful feeling opening the bundle ..

Oh, how beautiful! Like Gerrie I'm not really tempted but I have succumbed to buy two books by India Flint, an Australian who makes wonderful dyed fabrics from windfalls. I think she is teaching in the UK and US this year. I'd love to do one of her courses. But until then I'm getting great pleasure from seeing your fabrics.
