These are a few of the 'blocks'
that I made in my first day of class
with Rayna Gillman.
The workshop is titled
'Create Your Own Free Form Quilts',
and I'm certainly doing that!
I think this may be another wall-hanging for
our new granddaughter, Maggie.
I was afraid I wouldn't have enough commercial fabrics
in my stash to fill the bill,
as these colors are totally out of my comfort zone,
but I think I'm going to be ok.
Here's a bit of my scrap pile:
We will begin putting our 'blocks' together
tomorrow, or at least discussing
our blocks and various methods of joining them.
I'm having a great time.
There's something very therapeutic about
sewing loads of strips together,
not measuring, not using a ruler as a cutting edge,
just cutting strips any width
and joining them to an ever-growing family.
.....and of course, it's always great fun
to be with Rayna.
If you've never had that pleasure,
I strongly suggest it!
thanks for dropping by!
peace to you!

Oh Judy, the blocks are fantastic! I love the bright colors. So glad you had fun with Rayna. I don't think it would be possible not to have fun in her company.
I love how your pile of colorful scraps is shaping up!!
Yeah... you're blocks look great. I can imagine just how much fun you're having with Rayna. Plus, you'll have a quilt/wallhanging to show for it too! Say "hi" for me, will you?
What vibrant colours! Something wonderful will come of this, I'm sure.
