On My Needles

"Put a Lid on It"
is my newest knitting project.
This is another Hannah Fettig design,
using Quince and Co. Sparrow yarn.
You can see the hat finished here.
Sparrow is linen yarn,
spun in Italy on flax
grown organically in Belgium.
I love Hannah Fettig's designs
(you may recall me mentioning her name
here quite often!),
and when her book 'Knitbot linen' came out
last Spring, I had to have it.
I'm intrigued with the idea of knitting with linen,
and perhaps wearing a couple of hand knit linen vests.
I decided to start small
with this hat.....
and Lord knows I'm wearing lots of hats these days!

I've also started another pair of
Vanilla Socks

This is from the wonderful
yarn that I showed you the other week.
I love the yarn,
and I am really enjoying
this knitting.

And here's the update on my
Sycamore Vest

.....another Hannah Fettig design!
I've reached the top of the shoulders,
will seam them,
and then get on with knitting the collar.
So, it is coming along!

What's on your needles?
I'd really love to hear!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you had a nice weekend.

peace to you and yours!

I love the color of the hat yarn. The hat pattern actually looks like something I might be able to wear. (I look awful in hats, so I opt for scarves.) Your sock yarn makes me so happy. I cast on stitches for a baby cardigan. Time will tell if I actually get it done before the baby is three. :) The vest is loverly. I do love that soft color. I found some linen/rayon fabric in the bin at JoAnne's and wish I could find more. It is really soft to touch and has a beautiful drape. I love linen thread to embroider with, but have never knitted it. Looking forward to a yarn report. :) xoxo

Adorable hat, Judy, and you will look adorable in it! Love the colour of your socks and the vest looks fine. I wouldn't have thought of knitting linen, though let's face it, I don't think of knitting anything much, so I'll be interested to hear how soft it is. xox

Love the hat, and the socks! I have been toying with the idea of trying to knit socks (I'm a very, very new knitter, and don't follow patterns well!). I see you are using circular needles... mind if I ask the pattern you are using? I saw one recently that used 4 2-point needles, and promptly walked away... too complex for my simple brain!

Love the colour that you've chosen for the hat. The sock yarn is so cheerful too. The vest is reelly getting near the end now which is more than can be said for mine :)

Hi Judy, a great name for the hat and I love the color you've chosen. Maggie's hat turned out adorable, too, by the way! ;)

Can't wait to see the vest. You amaze me. I'm still working on my purple lady sweater, sort of embarrassing to be so slow but I is who I is, right?
