Gelli Printing resumes!

Wow, it's been so long since I've blogged,
that I barely remember how to do it!

Suffice it to say that my life has been busy!
I completed all 36 rounds of radiation
on April 25th, and I am so thrilled
to have that final leg of my cancer journey behind me.

We spent a few very relaxing days away with friends,
and since then I have begun to try to catch up
here at home.
I'm gardening a lot and just enjoying
being out in the yard listening to the birds call
and feeling the warm breezes on my face.
Life is good!!

We have a wonderful old Painted Buckeye tree
in our yard
and I wanted to do some work with it.
I picked one small branch the other day,
sketched the beautiful blossom
and the leaves,
and then today I did some monoprinting
of the leaves,
using my large Gelli Print Plate.

I had prepared some fabric in advance,
but then, as usual, I got carried away
and just started grabbing any spare fabric
that was laying around in the studio.
So, I ended up with layers upon layers!
It was great fun,
and I totally lost track of the time.
Here are a few more of the prints:

…..after all, it is a 'painted' Buckeye, right!!!

The following print
was done on an old striped bed sheet
which had belonged to my Mom…..
yes, I hang onto almost everything!
It will definitely be used.

Here is my month of April
according to my Photo 365 app:

It was a brilliant month….but aren't they all?

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace to you and yours!

Very happy to hear your treatment regime is over, and that you are back creating beautiful fabric! You inspire me to get my gelli plate out, but first I have to clear a space in the studio... it's a shambles!

So happy for you Judy, you deserve peace of mind now. Love your printing, still haven't used my Gelli plate! But I did download the calendar app - as if I don't have enough already! xox
