Day 33....a little play time

So, I'm joining more blocks, in order to free up more pins
and space on my design wall.
The blocks directly under "Day 33" are what I've joined today
(actually there are eight blocks joined in that row).
I didn't think I'd like that little pink and white polka dot fabric,
but I do!
And look above "Day 33".
I'm totally in love with the pink with orange polka dots.
That Kaffe Fassett really knows his color!
(the pink with white polka dots is not his, but the other two are).

Here's my design wall - well, part of it -
now you will understand why I'm piecing some rows.
I can't wait to get to the stars.
I love, love, love those wonky stars!

I'm playing with some crazy dye color combos....
just because I can!
These two are Dharma's turquoise and scarlet,
just different concentrations.
Both are on Test Fabric's 419 cotton.

I've become totally addicted to the lace knitting on my Lilli Pilli Wrap.
I'm not sure if I shared with you that I was having so much trouble with the lace.
I just couldn't 'get it'.
A friend shared that Laura Nelkin teaches lace knitting classes on Craftsy,
so I signed up for two.
I am eternally grateful to my friend, and to Laura Nelkin.
She is a fabulous teacher.
I haven't finished the classes yet, but I was already able to identify the root of my problem
and go back (aka rip out) many rows of incorrect lace knitting and begin again.
This time I'm doing it correctly, and it is such a good and satisfying feeling.
So, here's what I'd accomplished yesterday:

I've done a good bit more today, and I've gotta say:
it's lookin' mighty sweet!

ok, that's it for today.

if you haven't left a comment yet,
and you are interested in being in the drawing for yesterday's Furoshiki,
go ahead and say something....
there's plenty of time
(the drawing closes at midnight Eastern on Sunday night)
and there aren't a lot of comments, so you stand a good chance of winning!

thanks for stopping by

peace!

I am just in love with Mag's quilt. I can't decide which I like more, the butterflys or the wonky stars. What I really like is that it isn't too "girly". The palette will still be enjoyable even into her teen years. I love polka dots. There are some things I don't think I'll ever out grow - dots, gingham checks, and dotted swiss. I can see me now in my dotage in my dotted swiss dress with a polka dot/gingham apron. LOL! Have a wonderful weekend.

The sashing really helps the butterfly blocks look like butterflies. Really like today's dye experiment.

I adore the ethereal effects of the dyes! :) The butterflies are.. um.. taking off! ;) And the stars are wonderful. Thanks for documenting and sharing all your art!
