Good Morning!
It's Thursday and we are in Pittsburgh, arriving here late yesterday afternoon. We are staying at a Marriott Renaissance, which is just across the river from PNC Park, the baseball stadium. Our view from our room is incredible, in fact C probably didn't need to purchase tickets to the game, as we could plainly have watched it, with our own commentary, from one of our three windows overlooking the river, the bridge and the stadium. Before each home game the city closes the bridge to vehicular traffic, and it becomes pedestrian friendly so it is quite civilized to be downtown and enjoy a game. Pittsburgh beat up on the Cards unmercifully, winning 15-1. Of course, I was thinking a lot about our Braves back at home, since we had just acquired Georgia Tech star Mark Teixeira from the Texas Rangers....and he did us proud, hitting a homerun! WooHoo, go Mark!!!
My pictures are backwards today, so please bear with me! We are enjoying coffee and muffins in a cute little coffee shop next to the hotel this morning, before heading on on to Albany, NY.
The drive was lovely yesterday, driving through Virginia and West Virginia, crossing the New River on one spectacular bridge.
Here is a bridge view from our room last night after the game:
The out of town scoreboard showing Atlanta ahead in the 4th inning:
This is batting practice, taken from our hotel room:
And what was I reading on our drive north on Wednesday:
I found this picture of a quilt depicting "The Bluest Eye" a bit of synchronicity since we just enjoyed this play at Horizon last Friday night:
Here we are arriving in Pittsburgh:
The baseball stadium, the river, the bridge, all from our bedroom window:
Welcome to West Virginia!
We walked around the visitor's center and down the walkway to see the bridge:
The largest single arched bridge in (the western hemisphere, perhaps?)....google it!

That's it for today!
PEACE

I've never been to Virgina either although we have driven through Pennsylvania on our way from NYC to Winnipeg. It looks like beautiful country. Maybe a long road trip in USA needs to be considered.
On your way to Albany, you will be driving very close to my home and through what I call God's country. I love upsate NY in summer.
