Oh Happy Day!

May 11, 1917: My Mother was born in Brockton, Massachusetts.
I'm not sure how old she is here, but I just adore this picture of her!
Her parents were from Sweden and emigrated here around the
turn of the century. They were a handsome couple and produced two
very beautiful children: my Uncle Eldon, and then my Mom, seven years later.

This is Mom's high school graduation picture, which she
sent to her grandparents in Sweden. It was later found by my cousin Eva (in Sweden) and then she graciously copied it
and sent it to me. My Dad certainly had the eye for a pretty girl, and our daughter looks very much like my Mom.

So today, we not only celebrated Mothers' Day, but also my Mom's 92nd birthday. Our friend Bobbie and her Mom Jill joined us, along with our daughter....her husband celebrated the day with his Mom and Grandmother. Bobbie, at my request, made the most delicious Boston Cream Pie and also brought the 9 and 2 candles. Just as she was about to place the candles on the cake, she whispered to me, what if I make your Mom 29? Great idea! Mom's eyesight is not that good, and I honestly thought that she would not notice...but she did, and she had a great laugh over it!

So here's Bobbie lighting the candles

and here's Mom blowing them out!
It was a great day, spent with wonderful friends and an
incredible family!

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY & HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVA...A BIT EARLY!

Your Mom was indeed a young beauty. How lucky you are to have her in your life even though I know that it adds stress.

Hope you have had a great Mom's day for yourself.

Did you see what I got? You will have to got to FB. I haven't blogged about it yet.

Happy Birthday to your Mum! How about a recipe for the Boston (cream?) cake on your recipe page - it looks just scrumptious. I'm not sure what it is. My birthday this week, doesn't that mean yours is also pretty close? And hey, how cool are the soles of your sandals? Do some stamping, quickly. XX

In the first photo of your mom, it's as though I'm seeing Kristin! I'm glad you enjoyed Mother's Day as we did here with Jacinto III, Alejandra and the grandkids.

My mom's birthday is 5/9, so it often falls on or near Mother's Day. The older she gets (she's 85 this year), the more blessed I feel to still have her with me. Looks like you all had a great time! Thanks for sharing what will be life-long memories.
