What's Happenin?

I've been busy the last couple of days! Phew: it feels good to sit down! As I may have told you, our weather has been more on the idea of Portland, OR this summer. While the folks in the lovely Pacific Northwest are sweltering, we are enjoying cooler than normal temps and lovely, luscious rain. As I was quilting away on my new table runner yesterday morning, a heavy shower passed through:

Yup, I know: my sewing table was a mess....but it's better now! I'm enjoying spending more time in that space, and organizing it a bit more every day.

Here's how the table runner turned out:

I like the design I chose for the quilting.....I borrowed it from a class I took with Carol Taylor several years ago, and then I adapted it to my piece. It felt flowing to me, sort of like the storks in flight.

Here's the back side:

I serged the edges..........using a rolled hem stitch:

Yesterday afternoon I ran a bunch of errands, including going to visit with my 92 year old Mom, who was busy playing a game of Dominoes with her buddies. After a nice workout at the gym, I headed to our local farmers' market, which is now open on Friday afternoons, in addition to the usual Tuesday and Saturday mornings. C always goes on Tuesday morning, and has several favorite vendors, including Joy who sells the most wonderful beets and eggplant. I bought several eggplant yesterday, and then she slipped me a few more as a 'bonus'! I also picked up some bell peppers. MMMMMMM!

Those are going to be GREAT on the grill!!!

Next on my list was peaches. I've gotta say that there's nothing better than a fresh Georgia peach!!! I was delighted to hear that the Georgia Belles are in!!! MMMMM! Georgia Belles are very delicate and because of that fact, they cannot be shipped. So, um darn, we have to enjoy them all by ourselves! They are a lovely whitish/yellowish/chartreusey color, and never really look ripe, but they are oh so very good!!!

This afternoon I made Rayna's Flourless Chocolate Cake:

I hate that we have to wait to cut into it until our company arrives!

PEACE!!!

Lovely quilt. Clever girl! Your picof the eggplants makes me want to rush out and buy some for eggplant parmigiana. And hey, is that recipe in your cooking blog? Think it should be - no pressure!

So, do we get to see the whole table runner? LOL! Oh man, eggpland parmigiana sounds so gooood! How do the Georgia Peaches taste different from others? Just makes my mouth water. Have fun! Cheers.

I love your table runner. It looks so nice. But I am very distracted by the Georgia Peaches. MMMMM Good. I love peaches and we just get peaches from the northwest. Enjoy a Georgia Belle for me.

The table runner is beautiful! The wave like quilting goes so well with the Japanese touch.
