Goings On

Life has been interesting and fun here lately, but nothing too very blog-worthy up until today, so rather than waste your time and mine, I thought I'd just wait to write until I had something to say. How's that?!!

Last Saturday I brought some of my silk scarves in to show Sally, one of the owners of At the Collective, a great new co-op shop in Inman Park. She invited me to become a part of their space and today was the day to set up my spot. I was thrilled to actually find a nice adjustable chrome display stand on Craig's List, and then all I needed was a bit more inventory.....so back to the studio I went! I know: oh darn it, I hate it when that happens!

C and I spend a lot of time in Inman Park: going to plays at the Horizon Theater, eating at a variety of the fine neighborhood restaurants, sipping decadent hot chocolate at Cacao, and perusing and purchasing vintage finds at City Issue, so I am very confidant that At the Collective is another good spot for me to be......and you should go there too!

One of the neat things today was that my internet friend Diana (of DyeDianaDye) was meeting me there. When I say meeting, I mean meeting in the true sense of the word. Although we have known of eachother for quite some time, and we have emailed for about a year, we had never laid eyes upon eachother. She was perfect: just as I had expected her to be! I felt comfortable with her from the moment we first spoke. Sigh: what a relief! Actually, it was much like when Gerrie and I first met at the airport in Seattle! So, back to Diana: she dyes the most incredible Shibori garments, you must check them out! After a few minutes of chatting, Diana and Brenda, another artist At the Collective, began exchanging scarf tying techniques, and I was able to catch this little video of Diana on my iPhone

I hope you will enjoy it! Thanks so much Diana, for allowing me to film you and put you on my blog!

The rain has finally stopped, the sun has come out, and Barker is waiting ever so patiently for a walk...........and you know I can't keep that big guy waiting!!

PEACE

Judy, you are so right - meeting you in person was just 'trading faces'! What a terrific afternoon it was. Your work is truly going to shine in that space (it already glows on its own). And how very strange to see and hear myself on video!

Thanks for the scarf typing lesson - I've actually been trying to wear more scarves to work to look more dressed but, I can never figure out how to tie tie them. That's a pretty innovative style.

And the top photo is cute -- is that the front of the co-op shop?
