I think my little Primroses from dear, dear Elizabeth have little buds!
We had a mixture of rain and snow today, so I didn't spend a lot of time taking this picture.
Snow: can you believe it?!!!
I did spend a lot of time carving this lino block. I found that I learned a lot by doing the first 9 patch exercise that I showed you yesterday. I've made several prints of today's work, but once I got out in the dye studio (which is not attached to our house and did I mention it was COLD and RAINING/SNOWING?) I realized that I wanted more and different fabric. Of course, that was in the house, so I had to make do with what I had. I did want to try out the white textile screening paint, so it was nice to at least have some red fabric.
I also printed over yesterday's 9-patch piece....I love it!
This is the little guy I based my carving on......isn't he cute? My sister-in-law Carol sent him and several of his buddies to me shortly after we had visited the Huichol Indian area in Mexico. I love the intricate beading, the bright colors, and the fact that he's a turtle! He is near and dear to me!

Well the gush quotient just went up! I love what you are doing with the stamps and the turtle is amazing. I can't imagine sewing all those beads on. Primroses are such perky plants, I love them. Mom Nature sure is playing mean tricks this year. Have a fun week.

Cutting stamps - what fun!
Very inspiring work. I love the little turtle. We still have quite a lot of snow but it's going fast. Can't be too fast for me but my son is all depressed because his hockey playing season is over.
Snow doesn't surprise us -- we sometimes have snow in May. Of course, it melts before noon. And in April, it doesn't surprise us either. We have a proverb:
"Der April macht was er will" (April does what he wants).

Re the turtle, I'm glad you like it, and I'd like to make a clarification: The beads are not sewn on, Jeannie. The Huichol paste them on using beeswax (sp?. Talk about patience!

Oh YES!!! those ar edefinately little yellow flower buds. they will sned those buds up on a 3 to 4 inch stalk, so they won't actually bloom for a while. But they sure look like happy campers!!! I am soooo glad!!!
your cut blocks are wonderful- you have got me thinking of doing some cutting as well!!!
