a little of this, a little of that

A rather frustrating, downer of a day here, but then that is bound to happen every so often, isn't it?

But before we delve into the frustration factor, can you guess what this is?

No? OK, then, I'll tell you: I was stamping some designs on fabric using Lumiere paints and when I got done, I washed my 'tools' in the sink. I suddenly noticed how cool the water looked when I swirled it around, so of course, I grabbed my little iPhone and snapped a picture! Voila! I think I may print that out on some fabric!

And here is what I was printing. I used various jars of Lumiere and printed on black canvas. I think I like it!

Depressing: I took my Mom to our eye Dr this afternoon for a follow-up appointment regarding her Macular Degeneration. He had hoped he could stop it's progression, but the treatment he had prescribed did not work. So, her condition is worsening quite rapidly. Poor Mom: she is already confined to a wheelchair, and now this. I suppose at almost 93, we can't expect miracles, but I still feel badly! Oh well. thanks for listening!

PEACE

So sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. I have two sisters who have it and it seems to have been held at bay for at least the time being. These are the blond sisters.

Love the stamping on the black.

My 91-year old Mother, who has Macular Degeneration but the kind that doesn't advance too rapidly, has fallen and broken her hip. since she also suffers from dementia, things are not much fun right now. You camellia yesterday was a real high point for me, and I love the print. When I get home (I think I will be here another month) I would like to do some similar prints. You have inspired me!

Best wishes to you and your mom.

You should have popped a piece of cloth in the sink to see if you could capture that neat pattern...
My Dad had macular degeneration and his sight just kept getting worse. He found it very frustrating but his mind was still sharp so that was a blessing. I hope they can find something that will help.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. My grandmother and my husband's father both had macular degeneration. It is such a tough thing regardless of age.

I do love the piece you are working on. I hope you can escape in your work here and there...

I think I like (really, really) the printed fabric too.

Sorry to hear about your Mom's Macular Degeneration. It's perhaps a thing that runs in the family, because Sune has the same. He's blind on one eye and has very bad eyesight on the other. I hope she's in a good health besides that. I went with my Mom to the doctor today. She has a aching knee so the doctor gave her a cortisone injection.
Hopefully that will help - for a while anyhow.
