Happy Summer!

Well, hello!  Do you remember me????  It's been a while, hasn't it?  I'm happy to report that life is indeed good here in my little creative sphere...and I hope it is for you as well!  I've been working hard, reading lots, and do have one completed piece to show for it, plus another well on its way!  WooHoo!!

No, the above piece is not one of them....but it may become one!  Actually, that is a series of three monoprints on one piece of cloth....does that make it a trioprint? I dunno!  Anyway, I have progressed in my color wheel painting and am now using textile paints, so I decided, Scotch girl that I am, to make use of the leftover color on my palette by monoprinting at the end of each session.  I am rather fond of this piece and will definitely use it!

We were at the condo this past weekend, and enjoyed breakfast on the Bakeshop patio yesterday with friends.  While we were munching on Jonathan's croissants and yacking away, up drove a Mini Cooper with this adorable puppy, goggles and all!  We got to talking with her owners, and when they were about to leave, I asked permission to snap a picture.  Isn't she adorable?  Barker loved her too, but she was a bit young for him: just 7 weeks old!

Captured this cool cloud picture Friday evening:

We are having the tile floor in our shower redone.  It seems that the first tilemen didn't entirely grasp the concept of proper drainage into a tray, and so we were beginning to have issues!

Our trusted tileman James, and his son David, are back to save the day.  They are almost finished, and I love what they have done with their new design!  I will try to remember to snap some pictures for you when the job is completed.  It's been another dusty mess, but the end result is what is important.  They are very good about cleaning up: I caught this pic while they had taken a break for lunch.

I have lunch with my Mom just about every Wednesday now, and it has become a ritual to take a tour of the vegetable garden afterwards.  Have I told you about this before?  Forgive me if I'm repeating myself!

Neil, the director of the assisted living facility loves to garden, so in early Spring he plants and then maintains this wonderful space.  Some of the residents are able to help him, and then they ALL reap the benefits by eating the fresh veggies.  What a wonderful idea, huh?  Mom just crows about the fresh tomatoes and yellow squash that they have been having.

Here is how he plants his beans:

picking those beans is an easy task: just reach overhead and grab them!

and here are more beans and squash:

My Mom's tablemate, Billie, maintains the flower beds that you see against the building.  She spends several hours each day weeding, pruning, watering, etc. and she LOVES it!  I think it is just wonderful that this is available for the residents!

C says it's time to take Barker for a walk before dinner, so I'll say bye bye for now.

Thanks for dropping by, and if you are still reading, please do leave a comment!

PEACE

Great to see you back and to hear about your exploits. You're obviously having a lot of fun with colour - I'm with you, I love lots of it! Such a cute puppy, in goggles, no less. No wonder Barker was a bit smitten. Enjoy those lunches with your Mom, they are very precious. XXOO

Hi, Stranger. Love the trioprint! I think that gardening is such a wonderful activity for seniors, speaking as one! LOL That veggie garden is fantastic. All I am able to grow this year is greens and herbs. My tomatoes, beans and squash are sitting there waiting for some sun and warmer temps.

Hiya Judy! great to catch up with you here. Are you creating the cloth for a palette to be used in something else or are you creating Art Cloth?

Keep on keeping on!

Hi Judy! It was so nice to see your post pop up in my email today. I sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying yourself. I must say I am impressed and inspired by you dedication to all things other than the computer. I am hoping to do much of the same. More time outside, with art projects and my children. I'll look forward to more posts and I can't wait to see what you monoprint fabric will become. It is beautiful.

Peace!
