I've spent a couple of afternoons just playing around with layers on some scraps of silk. Here's the final product:
I started with a 1/2 yard of silk crepe de chine which I dyed a yummy yellow orange. I applied soy wax using a petal stencil, and here's how it looked:
I added another layer of dye, and here's what I got:
that was 'ok', but I wanted more, so I added the final layer of dye, and the results were what you saw in the first picture. The best part about all of this is: I actually took notes, so I can duplicate this! Now, that is a first for me!
