Reward Time!

I want to share with you a few of my results from yesterday's studio time.  This first pic is of my grits resist (the before picture is in my previous post).

I love grits resisting!

Here's a detail shot:

This next one is resisting with sodium alginate

And this is oatmeal:

I love the process in the studio, but then opening the results is really the best part!

C is a real foodie and while reading his food blogs this morning, he learned of a wonderful Nan bakery in Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta.  We stopped there on our way to the condo and picked up some fresh-out-of-the-tandoor nan: mmmmmmmm!

(we're having yet more rain here (it's better than snow!) as you can see on the windshield!)

And I know you wanted to see my progress on Cosmicpluto's Beauchamp Cowl:

It truly is potato chip knitting!

Does anybody else watch Modern Family??????  We have become addicted!!!

PEACE

How do you use the resists? Do you put them on the fabric and then throw the dye over it? I am confused!!

Gorgeous! I really like the results with the grits. That cowl is becoming more and more beautiful. Is that some of your hand dyed yarn I am seeing? Have fun this weekend.

I am going to try some resist dyeing soon. It looks so interesting. Grits are hard to find around here but I have lots of oatmeal.
I love Naan bread. I often make it but need a tandoor...it's probably not going to happen.

I love how your cowl is turning out! I am just learning to knit and the thought of trying something like that is so daunting. I'm sticking to solids for now!

Oh, I really love the Grits Resist. What a fabulous piece of fabric!!! Sorry I have not been visiting but having a real job is limiting my blog stalking time. Hope all is well! Now as for Modern Family we LOVE it!!!

Everything is so pretty. I like the cowl best, maybe because knitting is the only thing I understand about what you do! What is Nan (Naan?) bread? What does it taste like? And when is Modern Family on? What network? Margaret is an addict, too.

P.S. Have K and D and C moved yet?

Your resist dyes are really wonderful! And so is the cowl!

I'm kind of addicted to Modern Family actually :) and would easily become addicted to both knitting and dyeing too -if I could come up with anything just half as good as the wonderful creations of yours!
