To Dos

I have become a huge fan of the Knitmore Girls podcast, and I often feel that it is the allure of listening to this mother/daughter team on my iPod that gets me to the gym for my workout!  Along with their discussions about 'what's on the needle', 'when knitting attacks' and 'straw into gold' Jasmin and Gigi also review knitting books, most of which I find irresistible.  The girls recently reviewed "Knitted Monsters": they liked it, and so did I, so I ordered it.  I really love it!!  I shared it with my knitting group, and all of the grandmas agreed that it was good!

The author, Rebecca Danger, writes her introduction and preliminary instructions as if she is sitting across the table from you in a coffee shop and just shootin' the breeze.  I love it!  Then she proceeds to offer patterns for various monsters, including pictures, descriptions, and names of each monster.  Look at this:

That's our little Charlie!!!  Well, you know I was hooked when I saw that!!!  LOL  So my darling little Charlie will have a monster or two to decorate his little world!

HAPPY WEEKEND

PEACE

I think you are hooked Judy! Yes, they do look great. Each of my five grandchildren got a special stuffed toy when they were born, and going back further so did their dads (I had only sons!)

Charlie the Ceiling Monster is a sweetie. Your Charlie will love him. My Mum was the toy knitter in our family and made wonderful toys for my kids, which sadly haven't survived. However, my cousin sent the toys that my mother had made for her (now grown up) children so my little grandkids do have toys knitted by their great grandmother.

How cute! Are you going to knit yourself and Barker a couple too?

Thanks for the book review, Judy -- this looks like one I'd enjoy -- great for little baby gifts that no one else will make!! Will you bring samples to San Antonio??

You KNOW I have that book, too. I suppose we should trade names of podcasts we listen to....
