Batik Pillows

I did a lot of batiking a little over a year ago with the intent of using the fabric for a duvet cover for our guest room.  Plans changed, and the comforter is now encased in some shiboried fabric that I dyed last Fall.  So, I decided to use the batiked fabric for new living room pillows.  I have been dying to make some 'recycled circles' a la Jane LaFazio, so today was the day!  YIPPEEEEE!!!  My first square of circles is in the upper left hand corner of this pillow, and you can see that I was just learning.  I got better as the day progressed, but after looking at Jane's blog, I realize that I have lots of room to grow.  They are fun to make though, and a great way to use up some of my fabric stash.  I am using only fabrics that I have dyed - er, well, except for some wonderful indigo pieces that Jeannie sent me last year!  Thanks Jeannie - can you tell which pieces are yours?

Yesterday afternoon I made the pillow in the middle......just a very plain and boring pillow!

Here's the second pillow in the recycled circles collection

OK, enough pillow talk......time to get back to work!

PEACE
