Here are my steamed results from yesterday's waxing and dyeing session.
I am showing them in the order in which I posted them prior to steaming in yesterday's post. Like I said, I learned a lot while playing with this technique. The above piece almost looks 3 dimensional, doesn't it?
Below is the first piece that I 'painted' with the hot wax and Procion MX dyes (the photo above is the second piece that I worked on). I had no design plan - can you tell? LOL - when I started the piece below.
Here is the third piece, and I was simply doodling and trying different concentrations of dye powder in the hot wax.
I'm impressed with the vibrant color (hence the name of the dvd!) that you get with this technique, and I can see instances where this will be of great value. I've done several more pieces but can't show them here now, as they are for my class. I hope to tweak my process next week and share more results.
Thanks for stopping by!
Stay Cool!
PEACE

Amazing! I love that second piece most.
I love the lime green squiggly piece. I need to get that dvd. This looks like fun.
I rarely use omg, but OMG!!! Spectacular results!!! Well, I guess I know what I am re-watching tonight and what is happening tomorrow. I am amazed. I love the top piece, it has an Oriental rug appeal. Keep cool and having fun.
They turned out really cool!
Just this week I made the crayons to play with, and next I want to try the dyes mixed in with wax. You're results are very encouraging
