Napa

Yesterday I spent a lovely afternoon printing Napa leaves with thickened dyes.  We were having an Asian cold steak salad for dinner, and I thought the outer leaves off of the head of Napa cabbage would be perfect for printing...and they were!

I printed several on a leftover piece of cotton muslin

and I also printed some on a blank white silk camisole.  Above is how they they looked wet, and below is how they looked after their washout.  I'm very pleased with the results.

I'm in love with the tiny mushrooms that seem to pop up overnight on the golf course.  Usually they are clumped in threes (imagine that!), but here's a solitary one that is waaaay past its prime.  It's perhaps just an inch in diameter, and oh so delicate.
