and now Charlie's ONE!

As the saying goes, "Time Flies When You're Having Fun"!
where did the past year go???????????????
Yesterday was Charlie's first birthday.
We celebrated in grand style at his Paternal Grandparents' home.

Here he is with his doting Uncle Rob.
Rob's lovely fiance Melanie is in the background.
Charlie received more gifts than any one year old needs,
but I know he will use and appreciate them all in due time.
We all went a bit overboard!
Here are his two 'smash cakes':
a choo-choo train and a dinosaur.

Both cakes were made with minimal sweetener (apple juice)
and organic pastry flour.
The icing was made with cream cheese and apple juice.
Sorry I don't have pictures of the birthday boy's face
smeared with icing.
He's not much of a sweet eater, and wasn't quite sure about the
texture of the cake.

Here he is with his G-Daddy.
You may notice a change in attire -
in the picture with Rob, Charlie was wearing his Dinosaur t-shirt.
Here he has on his train engineer's attire.
I think he had a grand time, and never once seemed
overwhelmed or in need of a nap.
He is a real trooper!

Here's Charlie with his Mom & Dad,
and Tucker & Marley....
plus all of his birthday loot behind them!
It was a great day spent with family and friends!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CHARLIE!!

Happy Birthday, Charlie!!! Is that a drum? When I think of all the fun you have had in 12 short months, I smile. Just imagine all the fun you will have this year as you walk, then run!
