Getting Back in the Groove

Today was my first day back in the studio in a very long time.
While I love the Christmas holiday season,
I certainly miss my time hovering over dye pots!

Above is a detail shot of a silk charmeuse scarf that I dyed several weeks ago.
Today I had the time to screen on some pine needles.
The colors aren't true in these pics, as the green is much greener
and the needle that appears brown is actually an antique gold.

Here's another shot:

Charmeuse has always been my favorite silk.
I tried to fall in love with crepe de chine, but it just didn't last.
This scarf is buttery soft and drapes as any silk 'should'.....
so, what's not to love about it?

The boys and I had a nice long walk on the frosty golf course this morning.
It was 27 degrees, but thankfully there was no wind.
This is how they 'play':

I love that screen. I have such a mess in my studio that I can not even imagine getting out surface design materials. I have to clean up the sewing marathon. I am feeling quite a bit better.

I also love that screen. It is so delicate and interesting. The frost is so heavy in that photo, it looks like snow. 60 degrees here - lol! It is odd to go out without a jacket in December. xo
