Making Bags

I had been using the small, hard plastic eyeglass holder you see above

to store my sketching and watercolor 'tools',

but my Tombo pen was too long to fit.

So I decided to make a little bag for all of my tools.

I used some black cotton fabric I had discharged for the bag's outside 

and a wonderful product called HeatnBond Vinyl to line the inside.

As you can see below, it is iron-on.

My friend Marga had blogged about it a while back,

so this was a good time to give it a try.  Thanks for the tip Marga!

I have since found that Pellon also makes a similar product,

Vinyl Fuse

I have not tried it yet, but the directions are about the same.

My new art bag really fits the bill:

I was then on a roll, so to speak, and made a few more bags:

These are all my own hand-dyed fabrics - 

a great way to use up some trial-dyed pieces.
