Rust for the Rusty

We've been in the city for a few days.
We drove down to the Scott Antique Market this morning.
It is open only one weekend each month,
so we lucked out to be free and in the city today.
I found lots of rusty objects and had to pick and choose carefully
in order to stay within my budget.
I hope to share some excellent results with you in a few weeks.

Thursday was our art date at the High Museum with Charlie.
He really loves it!
As we approach the museum on Peachtree Street, little Charlie starts saying
"High, statues"!!
It is amazing to me how a child not yet two years old
can observe a statue for moments on end.
He checks out all of the anatomical parts,
naming them while comparing them to his own,
all the while daring me to 'touch'.
And he draws and paints in the art room.
On this particular morning,
we were making rabbit collages to go along with the story that was read.

This is a special time for us,
as I realize that before we know it,
Charlie will be in school
and we won't have the opportunity to spend as much time together.

We're off to the Balzer Theater in a little while to see
"My Name is Asher Lev".
I am really looking forward to it.
And then home we go!
A wonderful time in the city,
and I'll appreciate being home again!

Charlie is so cute. He looks like he is paying close attention. What a great opportunity for kids at the museum. So many rusty pieces and only so much trunk space. LOL! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Charlie looks like a "sweetie"--I cannot fathom that my firs 4 grandchildren are now 12, 11, and 8 (twins)--time does fly so fast...and now my new little darling, Fiona, will be 1 yr in October--ohmygosh. I am happy for you to be able to enjoy him...Julierose

Oh Judy, precious time spend with Charlie for sure. I have two GC and the older one is almost at school now. Your day at the antique mall sound wonderful. Funny how we women are going for rust not lust! Enjoy the theatre - hugs Nat

Sweet seeing Charlie; it is so neat that he enjoys your art dates and is so observant! This time with these little ones really is so very special..and fleeting.
