Good Bye, Farewell!

2012 is just about over here on the east coast of the US.  Many of my internet friends are already celebrating the arrival of 2013, but we still have about six hours remaining in the old year.  It's been a good year for my family, and we are all very thankful.  We've enjoyed good health, no major financial crises, a marvelous second year of life for our grandson, and the arrival of a beautiful and healthy granddaughter.  We couldn't ask for more!

I love listening to The Writer's Almanac, and so enjoyed the quotes that Garrison Keillor read this morning.  This one, by Ben Franklin, is particularly nice:

"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better man."

I am borrowing the following sentiment from Wabi Sabi, one of my favorite blogs:

Happy New Year!
Hope 2013 will be a good year for us all.
With more peace and less hunger.
And no more violence against women, young or old,
who wants to build a life according to their own wishes and capacity.
                        Wherever they are.

And so with that, I will complete my last post of 2012.  Thank you for coming by to read my blog, and I hope you will continue to visit in the new year.  I have a lot of projects up my sleeve, and want to share them all with you!

peace

Another year of reading your blog has passed and a monumental year it has been! The Adventures with Charlie are always a joy to read, especially the days spent at the museum. Now there is a new little Grand to add to the mix. Musings with Maggie? LOL! Let us not forget you finishing your Masters program with Jane!!! And, then your artwork, which continues to amaze and delight me. Thank you for sharing your world with me. Your the sweetest Georgia Peach ever! xoxo

I do love Garrison Keillor! I don't think we hear him here anymore. Your year has been wonderful to follow, Judy dear, and I look forward to keeping up with you in this new year. Hugs to you all! XOX
