More Tropical Joy

A little "Tropical Joy" for you.
It has been overcast and rainy here
practically all summer,
so a bit of color helps lift the spirits.
Mind you, I'm not complaining about our weather.
With so many enduring drought
and high temperatures,
I feel fortunate to be enjoying a cool summer.

Here is a detail shot
of Tropical Joy:

This is another reason why I haven't done much knitting.
Rather than knitting for a bit with my morning coffee,
I've been machine quilting this piece.
All of the black that you see
is machine quilted,
thus causing the colored areas to puff
and appear more like ripples.

I had been addicted to
"Words with Friends"
for almost a year -
playing every chance I got.
I suddenly realized what a
time suck
that was.....
so I quit cold turkey.
I'm pleased to say that I truly have not missed it,
and I love having so much extra time.

thanks for popping by!

peace to you!

Oh Judy, Tropical Joy is well, joyful! (Can you see the female face? and no, I haven't smoked anything! LOL!)

Love this piece Judy. It looks like Shibori with natural dye. I don't play game so I know if I did I would get addicted too. Glad you quit! Hugs Nat

What a beautiful piece. I hadn't realised that all the black was created with stitch.

Beautiful! Tropical Joy is a great name. I gave up Words with Friends too, and was delighted to realise how much extra time I then had! Which I think I now waste on Pinterest! Oh dear!
