Saturday in the City

We spent Saturday afternoon
exploring a few new spots in the city.
Barbara, a good friend of mine,
had shared blabla,
an adorable store for little ones not far from our condo.
We found it,
I shopped,
and thankfully Craig stayed in the car!

My next stop,
also recommended by Barbara,
was just two doors down:

Laura, the co-owner, introduced herself
and spent a lot of time
showing me around her delicious shop,
and explaining what they are all about.
She is co-chair of the Flower Guild at
Atlanta's Cathedral of St. Philip,
and
they teach flower arranging
both in the shop and
throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.
I was particularly excited about
the classes for kids....
and their beautiful little container gardens.
I plan to return soon and purchase one
for the condo.
I look forward to taking both Charlie and Maggie
there for some fun flower play classes.

The High Museum (while not new to us) was next on our list.
opened today,
and we love photography exhibits!
I always enjoy seeing works by Sally Mann,
and was particularly taken by
  Nicholas Nixon's
'The Brown Sisters'.
We had not had a chance to see
the Rashid Johnson exhibit,
which was closing,
so were happy to get there just on time!
I particularly loved
Johnson's
very tongue in cheek

"The New Negro Escapist Social and Athletic Club"

and his
mirrored tile pieces.

Then I had fun with my iPhone camera
in the stairwell,
going down:

(reminds me of a paperclip)

and
looking back up:

As we left the High,
our shadows were calling my name:

thanks for dropping by!

peace to you gentle reader!

Looks like you had a great day and the flower classes sound exciting for the children. Love that stairwell and the shadow photos.
