On (and Off) My Needles

I'll begin with what is off of my needles!
What a good feeling that is.
This is the Rib Pattern Scarf,
for my dear son-in-law Dave,
in Georgia Tech colors.

These are Paton's Canadiana
Basic Mittens,
knit for Charlie.
(I don't know if you can see the black cuff?)
These coordinate with the hat I knit for him
while we were at the beach.
Craig and I think they may be too small for Charlie,
but then they should be a good fit for Maggie,
and I can knit him the next size larger.

and now, what's still on my needles:
Here is my second Vanilla sock,
15 Color Rainbow:

I'm using the Groovy Socks pattern,
which is a free Ravelry download.
I like how the pattern adds another
dimension to the self-striping.
I added the little lifeline for the
afterthought heel last night,
so I'm now knitting on up the leg.
WooHoo!

And lastly,
here's Put A Lid on It:

this is my hat from Hannah Fettig's
I've just tried it on,
and it covers my chemo-bald head,
so I am well on my way to decreases at the crown.
I've enjoyed knitting with the linen yarn,
so I will tackle more patterns from this book
in the future.
I thought the hat was a good way to introduce
myself to knitting with linen,
without investing too much time or money.

what's on your needles???

thanks for stopping by

peace to you and yours!

I love Charlie's mittens! Were they difficult to knit? I wear mittens more than gloves and could see me making a few for myself. Love the hat. The color is gorgeous. I looked at the book the other day, and liked the patterns. Your socks are so much fun!!! I am almost done with the body of Abel's cardi!!! Can you believe it? I can't! Sleeves are next. So he will get it before he out grows it. LOL! Hope your cold is better. xo

That other dimension you mention on the sock looks like pixels! These socks are going to be good for doing the happy dance in. :) xoxo

I finished my first crocheted prayer shawl after seeing one on your blog... very simple half double crochet throughout, with a nice fringe. I have ordered a bunch more homespun yarn to make more, and now I'm using the same pattern with a soft boucle' to make a long narrow scarf. Haven't crocheted in a long time, and it feels good to get back to it!

Those socks are just brilliant. No one will lose you in the dark. Glad that knitting the linen turned out well. I'm plodding on with the Sycamore vest, thanks to you.
