Happy July 4th!

Happy July 4th Everybody!!
I suppose I should open this post with a photo of fireworks,
but you'll just have to use your imagination!
Are you planning some wonderful festivities?
We are going to a great party
-it's a tradition -
at the home of some friends
who happen to live right across the lake from
our town's July 4th fireworks venue.
How lucky are we????
It's a great party,
and I can hardly wait!!

So, I promised you photos of my Lineal Cardigan.
Here are just a few

I am the resident photographer around here,
so, you'll have to make do with the dress form!

The cardigan is really comfortable,
and the best part is that you can wash it in the machine (it's linen)
and partially dry it in the dryer!
WooHoo!

I'm moving right along on my latest knitting addiction:
designed by Sarah Punderson.
I finished the lovely Alsatian Scallop border yesterday
and have now started knitting the body!
It is so addictive!
can you tell I'm excited??????

Here's a detail shot of the scalloped edging

……and here's how it looked before I started the body.

I'm knitting it with Madeline Tosh tosh dk -
and it is a very soft and lovely yarn!

And - last but not least -
I actually made it out to the dye studio today!
WooHoo!!!!
I'm playing around with some disperse dyes
and here are a few of my first results:

the heel of the iron hit the unforgiving polyester fabric
uh oh!!!

once again, the iron had it's way with the fabric!!

Hope you have a happy and SAFE July 4th holiday!

Thanks for popping in!

Peace to you and yours!!

Lots of lovely things here, as usual. Your cardigan is beautiful and toy shawl scallops look great. Maybe you are inventing a new look with the iron? xox

How do I love that shawl, let me count the ways! :) I love the design of the scallop. It is like a piece of jewelry. Disperse dyes? I have heard of them, but didn't know we could get them in the US. Oh boy, another thing to try. Happy Fourth! Have fun at the party.
