Day 8 of 200 Days of Dyeing & Doing

I think I might seriously be in love with this piece of silk as well.

Here's how it looked after the dye powders were sprinkled atop the ice:

........and here it is unfurled:

Idaho Beauty left a comment the other day suggesting that
the reason I got such weak results with the cotton was the weight of it vs.
the weight of the silk, and the amount of dye powders used.
BINGO!!!
Of course, she is correct, and it was so nice to be put out of my misery
so early on in the game!
I will pay more attention to weighing my cotton next time.
Thank you, Idaho Beauty.

.......and here's my 'Maggie block' for today:

I'm rather fond of this as well.  I like the richness of the fuchsia (ice-dyed)
and the contrasting violets and yellows.

I am busy applying the binding to the new baby's quilt.....
it's a race against time!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace to you and yours.

Every time I think you've made the most beautiful fabric yet, you outdo yourself. I'm anxious to see the results on cotton with your new method.

I am drooling! Excuse me - okay, better now. Wouldn't it be fantastic to be able to get the colors like in the photo of the powder on the ice? It looks like lichen on an exotic rock formation. The silk is gorgeous. Keep having fun!

Oh, I do blush! Thanks for the shout out. And this piece - what a beautiful color combination. I would not have expected it from how it looked with just the dye powders sprinkled on. But of course - they blend! Yum...
