Day 40

these are three separate fat quarters,

three gradations of fuchsia dye,

the darkest being at the top.

I like the less vibrant and weakest gradation

shown at the bottom

my butterfly block of the day:

and in the interest of design wall space and pins,

I've pieced together another row of blocks:

there are six blocks per row, but I can't fit them all in a photo

our hummers are about ready to depart on their long migration south,

so they are stocking up on food -

nearly eating me out of house and home these days

this little fellow has spent the day guarding my kitchen feeder,

fending off all others who try to sneak in for a sip
