Day 116: still dyeing

As promised here are the results from my gradations dyeing
from Day 115.
The fabric is all 12mm silk charmeuse,
a delight to dye and handle.
I was very pleased with my results.
Today I found time to do another round of dyeing.

The bottom photo is of gradations of
Pro Chem's Silk Black,
also on charmeuse.
I'll talk more about these later,
but suffice it to say
that I've spent quite a few hours dyeing today.

As for doing,
what little free time I've had,
I've spent knitting.

These mittens are Laura Nelkin's French Artichoke pattern
out of Jill Draper Makes Stuff Empire yarn
in the Paprika colorway.
Aren't they yummy!!
I liked them so much that I've cast-on
a hat in the same yarn
(it just looks different due to the lighting).

The hat pattern is Claire Devine's
Earl Grey Tea,
and since I love Earl Grey tea,
suits me to a t!
There are lots of cables and a big
pompom on the top.

That's all for now.

Thanks for dropping by

Peace!

I am just drooling over the gradations and can only imagine how wonderful they must feel to the hand. Love the mittens! I really must dig out some yarn this summer and knit myself some new ones. Soulemama talked about thrumming (?). It is where you knit some roving into the stitches and this winter I could have used mittens with some extra warmth. Have a fabulous week!

The whole process of dyeing will depend upon the type of fabric being dyed as well as the quality of dyes too. Right technique used with the right stuff conveys good results.
