C and I were up bright and early this morning, so that we could walk Atlanta's Peachtree Road Race. We've been participating whenever we've been in town for the past 27 years...don't ask me why, it's just a family tradition! In fact, when Dave and Kristin were married 3 years ago on July 3rd, they got up the next morning and ran the Peachtree. Go figure!
They tell me they ran it again this year, but they were miles and miles ahead of us, running!
We requested particularly high race numbers this year, as we knew we were going to be walkers, and didn't want to have the runners running around us. We were in the 99,000s somewhere. As you can see, it was a gorgeous morning, with temps in the low 7os and particularly low humidity. We waited here to begin our walk...in fact we waited and waited:
Slowly but surely our group mosied on up, and finally we could see the Start:
Just a sea of bodies! There were many t-shirt backs to be admired:
(I think this fellow is even older than we are!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, and here we are at the finish....didn't take too long, did it!!
Probably the fastest 10K (6.2 miles) you've ever traveled!!
And here's the t-shirt:
Hope you've had a very safe and happy July 4th.
PEACE

There you go, making me feel like a slug again. I did manage to walk over 12000 steps.
Love the race shirt--the greens are quite an inspiration and so are you!

What a cool tradition!
Well done!
Of cores it’s all about the t-shirt!
Why should they otherwise torture them selves and run/walk 10 kilometers!
Nice t-shirt anyway =))))))
