Loose Ends and Weekends

My knitting basket was overflowing with semi-finished projects, and so this morning I wove in the loose ends on a number of them: the top layer is the very first pair of socks that I knit:

below the socks are a number of scarves and shawls that I have knit over the past few months. Prior to my cataract surgery, my vision had deteriorated to the point that I could no longer knit socks or anything on small needles with fine yarn, so scarves satisfied my need to knit. Now, I can wash and block these babies and get them wrapped up for Christmas!

We've spent a lovely couple of days in Midtown, enjoying a few new eateries. Last night we enjoyed our second dinner at Lupe, a lovely little Mexican restaurant just across the street from our condo. Today we had a very nice lunch at Evos, which has recently opened in the ground floor of the Viewpoint:

Evos prides itself on healthy foods, not fried, many vegan and/or veggie fares are offered, the beef is humanely raised and hormone-free, etc. You can read more here. I look forward to more light meals there, especially in the warmer months when we can enjoy their outdoor seating and bring Barker along.

After our early morning walk, we ambled across the street and throughly enjoyed breakfast at the Bakeshop, which I wrote about a week or so ago. Barker opted to stay at the condo, so we ate on the premises this morning, and really enjoyed watching the bake staff as they carefully worked their doughs:

(I snapped this picture from my seat, while the chef was rolling up croissants.)

My husband has truly become an Atlanta foodie! Here he is with one of the staff, checking out today's bread offerings:

here's a view of some of the pastries offered :

We just love the Bakeshop, and are so happy that they have moved in close to our digs!

We went to see The Bad Lieutenant this afternoon. I wasn't too keen on going, but since I had checked off all of the items on today's to-do list, I welcomed the diversion and entertainment. Much to my surprise, I really enjoyed the movie. Nicholas Cage was, as always, fantastic. Go see it!

We enjoyed dinner tonight at ECCO, my favorite Midtown restaurant, and the food and service were, as always, fantastic.

PEACE

Love seeing this wonderfully civilized place you live in. What did Barker do at home when he opted out of going with you? Has he got a hobby?

You are so lucky to have so many good restaurants to choose from. Our choices here are very limited and the menus never seem to change. Sigh. Maybe that's why I get so much into cooking at home.

Gaaa! My only eating out experience in the last week or so was at Burgerville with M & M!

I am always so jealous of those lovely meals you describe, Judy. You sound as though you are certainly living the good life. Yum.
