Treadmill Time

a beautiful fungus on a tree stump in our backyard

I love that fungus
it makes me smile just looking at its many rings
it keeps growing and growing,
neither drought and heat nor ice & snow can deter it
I need to keep that in mind when times are busy, as they are right now!

I hit the ground running when I arrived home last Saturday.
We had a lovely city visit with Charlie and his folks that afternoon.

sleepy little boy fell asleep on our walk home from lunch

He was on his way to get his haircut.

Later that afternoon I unpacked and attacked the pile of laundry.
ugh
It was much more fun to revisit all of my class projects!

I repacked my bags on Sunday evening and spent
Halloween and part of the next day visiting Charlie and his folks
at their house.

cute little dinosaur sporting his new manly haircut

They had over 1240 Trick-or-Treaters at their house!
YIKES!!
We took turns handing out the treats.

Here are just a few of them before it got dark -
the crowd got much larger as the night went on.

I got home Tuesday evening to find my new copy of
Coastal Knits!  YAYYY
I love this book and can't wait to get started on a project or two for me!

sunrise view from our morning walk

I often cross paths with our daughter's former headmaster.
As we passed eachother this morning he asked if I walked every morning.
I had to laugh, as I have been out of town so much that poor C has been doing most of the morning walks with Barker!

It's great to be home for a few days.
Hope all is well with you -
and, as always, thanks for dropping by!

I love getting comments, so don't be shy!

peace

So glad it was a good trip to San Antonio. Look forward to see what you were up to, there. The sunrise is gorgeous, and Charlie is an angel! xox

I usually gush on and on about Charlie, but not today! Nope, that fungus captured my attention (sorry Charlie!). It has so much inspirational potential! I see a shawl crochet in grays, soft blues and white. Or a thermofax screen! Some lovely soft silk would mimic it curves ...... yep, I am in love with a fungus. ;-)

This fungus is just - wow! The central part looks exactly how clouds are painted in Tibetan traditional paintings!

... and Charlie is such a sweetheart...

... to be precise: The link leads to a Chinese painting. But the method is exactly the same in Tibetan art.

Sounds like you have been quite busy. How nice to be able to spend Halloween with Charlie and his parents! I can not imagine having over 1,000 trick or treaters. That is crazy. You must have gone through dozens of bags of candy.

Peace!
