Beach Music

It's a rainy evening here at the beach.
We knew it was coming,
so took two really nice walks
on the beach
earlier in the day.

Above is one of the many small pieces
I am stitching on:
hand-dyed and screen-printed,
now being embellished
with hand-dyed threads.

Lunch at Up the Creek
in Apalachicola
began with these extremely fresh oysters:

boy, were they ever awesome!

I also enjoyed Yellow Fin Sushi
on jasmine rice.
mmmmmm!

our afternoon beach romp:

Barker has never been a retriever,
but Bosco is.
He loves the ball thrower,
and it is fantastic at the beach!
It really tires him out,
and keeps him from pestering Barker.

I started a second eco-dyeing dye pot this afternoon:

As Jeannie says, it looks like fabric cioppino!
I was grabbing every little scrap of driftwood
and kelp that I could find
on our afternoon walk.
I can't wait to see how this one will turn out.
The first one looks good,
but I'm not unwrapping it just yet.

And last, but by all means not least,
here is last night's sunset:

It seems to be a tradition
that folks in these parts
(boy, do I sound 'southern' or what?)
gather on the beach just before sunset,
cocktail/beer in hand.
So you can see several parties
awaiting the green flash.
One group had a little bonfire going -
don't know if you can see it.

Due to the rain,
there was no sunset here tonite.
I'm ok with that:
we were granted two thus far.

peace to you, dear reader

The evening cocktail hour at the beach happens on the West Coast as well. :) Of course, it is a lot cooler and we need the bonfires to keep warm. Lovely stitching. xo
