I have three projects in my knitting bag at the moment,
but I'm only going to show you the two
that interest me the most.
This is the Ship Shape Crew
I am knitting it for my grandson, Charlie.
The motif in the center is a fish -
difficult to tell in my photograph, I know,
but trust me!
I started this little sweater in mid May,
and thought that I would surely be finished with it by now.
The graph for the fish motif was written incorrectly,
and for a while I thought I was the one who was wrong,
but after several tinks (unknitting)
I knew that there was a problem.
I've learned a great deal on this sweater
(from how to install a lifeline to
trusting in my own judgement).
I finally emailed the folks at Halcyon Yarns,
from whom I had purchased the pattern,
and they told me that they had issued an errata a month ago.
Well, I had searched the web for it,
and searched their site for it,
and never found it.
So they were kind enough to send me a new pattern,
with the correct graph.
I wasn't crazy after all!
So now I am well on my way with this sweater.
The yarn is a Malabrigo,
which is one of my favorites.
It is buttery soft on the hands,
and I love the color variations.
Below are the ends for my new
Stones and Stripes Shawl.
The end piece on the bottom is completed,
but when I photographed these earlier today
I had not finished the top one.
(It is now completed! YAY!!)
I've never been successful with lace knitting,
but loved this new Nancy Bush pattern
as soon as I saw it in the Brooklyn Tweed LookBook,
so I had to have it!
The yarn is Brooklyn Tweed's Loft,
and it is a delight to work with.
I must admit that lace knitting is a real challenge to me,
but I am finding it to be so rewarding
when the pattern actually works out right and
my stitch count is correct at the end of a lace row!
I will begin knitting the body of the shawl
tomorrow morning....
lace knitting goes so much more smoothly
- for me -
in the early hours of the day,
accompanied by a freshly brewed cup of coffee!
We went to see a wonderful movie this evening.
It is Mud,
and you can learn more about it here.
I never would have guessed that
Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon played
two of the main characters
If it shows up in a theater near you,
I highly recommend it.
Thanks for popping by!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
PEACE

I love Charlie's sweater! The color and the design. It is going to look so cute on him. Your lace is beautiful. Busy hands! :)
beautiful lace knitting.
Lovely knitting and the colour of the lace one is so subtle. I find that I can only knit in the winter so there's a way to go yet.
