I named this piece even before it was totally conceived and/or assembled. My friend Francine passed away while I was taking the class, and I wanted to dedicate this to her memory. She was such a great gal and a huge inspiration to so many people in the area. I know she is dancing once again and free from pain and suffering!

I have been waiting to see this all together. How very beautiful!!!!
. . and what a moving tribute to one who dances the only dance there is.
exciting piece...looking forward to seeing how you decide to stitch it! and if this is a reflection of your friend's spirit, she was an amazing woman!
Francine is dancing above and thrilled with having this piece of art named after her! Wouldn't that be a beautiful shawl!
she was an amazing woman, and I know that she is dancing, free from all of the worldly mess that had become her life over the past couple of years
I'm so glad you all like it!
this just sings!! I saw Carol's piece tonight. Love it, too.

The colors are gorgeous. Will this be a silk quilt? The material looks like silk. Sorry about your friend, but it's nice of you to dedicate the quilt to her.

Judy, It's even more beautiful that I remembered from "the barn".
Such a loving tribute to Francine!
I haven't started putting together my piece (actually two of them) yet. Maybe this weekend...

Well done Judy! Great balance of colours.
A lovely way to commemorate a gone friend or relative! Gorgeous and dynamic piece!
I remember the phone call you received in class and I think this is a beautiful way to honor your friend
It is a striking quilt- I love it!
So sorry for your loss, but the quilt turned out beautiful. It helps me when I make something in memory of someone, then I can look it and it often inspires good memories.
